Frequently asked questions

How long have you been a professional wedding photographer?

24 Years.

What's your style of photography?

I would say my style is fairly traditional with a contemporary twist. I believe a wedding needs an element of formality and structure in order to run smoothly. But that doesn't mean we can't have fun, be creative and capture some beautifully natural moments along the way.

How far will you travel?

I generally try to stay within a 60 mile radius of Croydon, however I have traveled further afield in the past. Please bare in mind when booking your photographer, that unless you are willing to pay for overnight accommodation, it makes sense to book someone who is reasonably local to you.

How long do you stay?

It depends on the package you have chosen. Normal coverage ends with the "Fake cake shot" just before you sit down to eat, evening coverage up to the first dances is available.

What cameras do you use?

I use Canon EOS 5D and 6D Cameras.

How much time should we allocate for photography?

I recommend allowing 2 hours between the end of the ceremony and the start of the wedding breakfast. My photography normally takes nowhere near that long but it will give you time to relax and chat to your guests and not feel like the whole day was a photo shoot. The family group shots tend to take the most time. It only takes a couple of seconds to get the shot but someone usually has to find the distant relative who has chosen that moment to check into the hotel!

What Happens if the weather is bad?

You will be very unlucky if the weather is bad all day and we can't get any photos outside. I carry a set of portable studio lights in the car just in case, which I would set up at the reception venue if required.

Do you attend more than one wedding a day?

No, I only ever cover one wedding a day

Is there a limit to the number of photos you take?

The only limit is the time available. I will keep shooting until I feel I have a complete coverage of your wedding or time runs out. The quantities quoted on my price list are a guide only.

How are the proofs presented to us?

The proofs are presented in a preview book as contacts, 12 to an A4 sheet, which you keep as part of your chosen package.

Do you provide the photos on a CD?

Yes, a High Res DVD or USB with full reproduction license is supplied with all packages.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I have professional indemnity and liability insurance.

Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, I always carry a spare camera, lenses, flashgun and memory cards.

Do we have to decide what service we want now or can we decide nearer the day?

You can decide nearer the day.

Once we have chosen our wedding photos, how long will it take to produce the album?

Conventional albums normally take approximately 2 weeks, bespoke digital and coffee table books can take up to 6 weeks.
